It has been confirmed that 8 companies have been chosen to take part in the trial to boost the current slow broadband coverage in rural areas. These companies will be piloting new techniques to improve the broadband coverage including foxed wireless and satellite technologies.
The locations chosen for the trials are Devon, Somerset, Northumberland, Scotland and Wales. The farmers have welcomed the plans as they have come 6 months before all farmers in England are required to submit their single farm payment.
