The deadline for this year’s Diageo Baileys Champion Dairy Cow Competition closes on August 11th, with the final taking place at the Virginia Show, Virginia, Co Cavan, on August 20th. 1st prize is €2,500, with €1,000 on offer for the Reserve Champion’s breeder and €500 for the Honourable Mention.
That’s not all, as there are prizes for Best Heifer in Milk. 1st and 2nd prize is €500 and €300 respectively, while 3rd prize is €200. €100 will be awarded to entrants from 4th to 10th place. There are also prizes for Best EBI, Best Exhibitor-Bred Cow, Highest protein Content and a Dry Cow prize fund of €500.
