Fears over Danish Swine Fever eases

Posted 08/05/2014

The large pig plant was closed for 2 days over a fear of an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF). The veterinary inspectors at Danish Crown's second largest facility in Herning had to close the plant Thursday evening after an autopsy proved to be inconclusive. The Danish authorities could not rule out the possibility of ASF, so they then enforced a 48 hour lock down of the facility.

On Sunday the result were in and confirmed that the Danish plant had the all clear.
